Our Background

Founder's Profile

Natalie Soledad Ramírez is the Founder and Principal Architect of Natalie Ramirez Architecture + Impact Collaborative. She has worked in architecture for over 14 years. She believes that the built environment can act as a catalyst for positive change and has devoted much of her career to projects that focus on public service with strong social impact ambitions. Over the years, she has worked on ground-up public and educational projects, projects for ELEMENTAL, led by Pritzker Prize laureate Alejandro Aravena, and for California non-profit clients including the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Slide Ranch.

Natalie is a Mexican-American architect licensed in California, DC, and Iowa. Born and raised in Sacramento, she attended Stanford University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with a Field of Study: Architectural Design in 2007. She went on to obtain a Masters in Architecture from University of Texas at Austin where she focused her studies on positive-impact and community-centered design. She trained in San Francisco under Mark Cavagnero on California and international projects. Prior to opening the firm, she served as Studio Director of both Sorg Architects (for-profit) and A Complete Unknown (non-profit) in Washington, D.C.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Better Together 2030, a non-profit focused on community engagement for inclusive and sustainable growth within Johnson County, IA. She is also on the planning committee for Arquitina, a non-profit with a mission to raise the 1% of licensed latina architects in the US.

Natalie hopes to continue to be fortunate enough to make positive contributions to the built environment alongside organizations who envision the projects, designers and users who help shape it, and to those whose hands ultimately construct it.
